Intro

Hi everyone, It is quite nice to have a blog where I can put down my opinions and share views with different readers.

I am a Masters degree holder from one of the UK's leading mordern universities, Robert Gordon University Aberdeen, where I studied International Information Technology Law (LLM).

It will be interesting for me to share different topics on ICT and its effects on legislation as this tends to be a major challenge to different countries in the world and the developing nations in particular.

Workplace Selfies

Selfies are now so popular (even presidents and the Pope are fans) that in some countries like Russia there is legislation governing selfie taking.   Selfies also seem to have crept into the workplace and can be quite obstructive affecting how employees carry out their duties. As good as selfies are at staff parties, meetings or boot camps, there is also the dark side of work place selfies.   Cases abound of employees taking selfies with clients’ details which are highly confidential clearly displayed in the background.   There are also cases of medical personnel taking pics of patients during surgery or under anesthesia (and heavens help you if you are a celebrity #Joan Rivers). This clearly draws an awkward line for employers in terms of policies put in place on paper but doing nothing to deter employees form violating them. Verizon High Speed Internet (DSL)

Hmmm, I finally heaved a sigh relief when I got on another internet provider-Cablevision Optimum. Initially, it was Verizon. Their offers always irressistably mouth watering with plenty of promises and usually cheaper than the rest. As hard as I tried to chose the right network on arriving the States from UK, I fell for Verizon's sugarcoated and persuasive advertisement when they promised $19.99 per month for their fast DSL internet connection. On top of that I added a landline package which brought my bill to a reasonable amount compared to their competitor. But after I was sent the DSL, I had problem getting it started. As hard as I tried, I could not. I had setup internet connections in the past in Europe on different occasions but this was not to be. They promised to get a technician to my house which they did.
